Overview
North of the equator the landscape changes completely: red earth, doum palms and the Ewaso Ng'iro river running through it. Samburu holds five species found nowhere further south — Grevy's zebra, reticulated giraffe, Beisa oryx, gerenuk and Somali ostrich.

Nairobi → Samburu
Drive north past Mount Kenya to Samburu, arriving for lunch. Afternoon game drive along the river.

Full day, Samburu
Morning and afternoon game drives searching for the Special Five and the reserve's leopards.
- 03Day 3
Samburu & Buffalo Springs
Cross into Buffalo Springs for the day. Optional Samburu village visit in the afternoon.
- 04Day 4
Samburu → Nairobi
Morning game drive, breakfast, then the drive back to Nairobi via Nanyuki.
