Maasai Mara Classic Safari

Overview

Kenya's flagship reserve, done properly. You spend two full nights inside the Mara ecosystem rather than commuting from the gate, which means you are out on the plains for the golden hour at both ends of the day — when the cats actually hunt. Between July and October the migration herds are in, and the Mara and Talek river crossings are within reach.

Day By Day

1. 01
   Day 1

   Nairobi → Maasai Mara

   Pick-up from your Nairobi hotel or JKIA at 7:30 AM. Drive west through the Great Rift Valley with a stop at the escarpment viewpoint. Arrive at camp for lunch, then head out on an afternoon game drive until sunset. Dinner and overnight at camp.

2. 02
   Day 2

   Full day in the Mara

   An early start with coffee before dawn — the best light and the best cat activity are both in the first two hours. Full day exploring the reserve with a picnic lunch out on the plains, covering the Mara River, Musiara Marsh and the Talek. Optional balloon safari at sunrise if pre-booked. Dinner and overnight at camp.

3. 03
   Day 3

   Morning drive → Nairobi

   Final morning game drive, then breakfast and a leisurely drive back to Nairobi, arriving mid to late afternoon. Drop-off at your hotel or the airport.
