Overview

If you only come once, come for this. Seven days covering Kenya's four signature landscapes: the city, the elephants of Amboseli beneath Kilimanjaro, the flamingos and rhino of Lake Nakuru, and three nights in the Maasai Mara. It is a full week, but paced so you are never doing more than one long drive in a row.

Day By Day

1. 01
   Day 1

   Arrive Nairobi

   Airport pick-up and transfer to your hotel. Depending on arrival time, visit the Giraffe Centre and the David Sheldrick elephant orphanage. Trip briefing with your guide over dinner.

2. 02
   Day 2

   Nairobi → Amboseli

   Drive south to Amboseli, arriving for lunch. Afternoon game drive among the elephant herds with Kilimanjaro behind them. Overnight at your lodge.

3. 03
   Day 3

   Amboseli → Lake Naivasha

   Sunrise game drive, then the long transfer north through Nairobi to Lake Naivasha. Optional afternoon boat ride among the hippos. Overnight lakeside.

4. 04
   Day 4

   Lake Nakuru

   Full day in Lake Nakuru National Park — white and black rhino, Rothschild's giraffe, and flamingos massed along the shoreline. Baboon Cliff for the view. Overnight near the park.

5. 05
   Day 5

   Nakuru → Maasai Mara

   Scenic drive across the Rift Valley floor into the Mara. Arrive for lunch, then an afternoon game drive. Overnight at your Mara camp.

   Day 6

   Full day, Maasai Mara

   A full day in the reserve with a picnic lunch. Optional sunrise balloon safari and Maasai village visit. Overnight at camp.

7. 07
   Day 7

   Mara → Nairobi, depart

   Final morning drive and breakfast, then the drive back to Nairobi. Drop-off at JKIA for your international flight, or continue to the coast.
